Ryker Green’s first month has been interesting

Sweet Ryker was born one month ago during a crazy time in all our lives in the midst of the crisis. He unfortunately had a very traumatic delivery resulting in severe facial bruising. Following his delivery he was immediately taken for observation resulting in a week long stay at the hospital.  Fortunately for everyone his dads work allowed him to take unpaid paternity leave and the family recovered together and went home. Immediately upon arriving home Rykers dad was informed he would not be returning to work because his job was not essential.. that has been 4 weeks of $0 pay. Since being home Ryker has had 2 major heart alarms resulting in 2 ambulance rides to The Children’s hospital in Chicago.  Both visits has resulted in a week long stay in the city. Because of the new rules only 1 parent can stay at the hospital resulting in the other to sleep in a hotel nearby. This journey has resulted in numerous unexpected bills on top of the unexpected lay off and Maternity leave this new family is already experiencing. We are very blessed that this sweet baby is getting the best care in the midst of all of this. We are trying to help with some of the pressure of the bills piling up. Of course they had planned for a week off and additional baby needs required but did not plan for spending 26 of the first 30 days of their babies new life to be this complicated: 1st time parents, Covid 19, 2 ambulance rides to Lurie Children Hospital, Diagnosed SVT, Hotel stays, being separated 24/7, etc. If you can not financially help we absolutely understand and we lovingly welcome prayers for a safe recovery for Ryker.
