Ryker's Fight Against DIPG
Donation protected
This past week Ryker and his family’s lives were turned upside down. What started as a fun Saturday afternoon at the Byron Tiger playoff football game shortly turned into a living nightmare. A trip to the ER quickly progressed into an ambulance ride to American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison. After further testing they awaited MRI results, which ultimately provided the news that no one wanted to hear.
Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) was Ryker’s diagnosis. DIPG is a highly aggressive brain stem tumor located on the Pons. Due to the location of the tumor, it is ultimately inoperable with very limited options for treatment. DIPG affects 200-300 children per year and holds a very low long-term survival rate.
The heartbreak and devastation that Ryker and his family are experiencing is something that no one should ever have to endure. Our prayers and hopes are high and we appreciate all the love and support from our family, friends and community.
Many people have reached out asking to assist and support in any way possible. Although we are still trying to process and fully grasp the impact this is going to have, we wanted to give people a resource to help and contribute to the journey Ryker is about to embark on.
Your contributions, no matter the amount, will make a world of difference for Ryker and his family. Every donation will go towards Ryker’s medical expenses, rehabilitation programs, and other essential resources that will help him as he battles DIPG.
We appreciate you sharing our GoFundMe campaign with your network to increase our reach and amplify the impact of your support.
