Ryker's Hope: Overcoming a Life-Altering Crash

On Tuesday, January 14, 2025, Ryker Huff’s life changed forever. While on his way to work, Ryker’s pickup truck was struck by a semi on I-90 near Beloit, Wisconsin. This devastating accident left him with life-threatening injuries, a collapsed lung, and a severe traumatic brain injury known as Diffuse Axonal Injury (DAI) type III. He is currently in a self-induced coma and on life support at the UW-Madison Neurology ICU, fighting for his life.

Ryker is a loving and hardworking 26-year-old man with so much to live for. He recently shared the exciting news that he and his girlfriend, Marie, are expecting their first child—a baby girl Ryker has named Iris—on April 1, 2025. Together, they had just moved into a new apartment and were building a life filled with hope and love. This accident has turned their dreams into a battle for survival and recovery.

His parents, DeAnna (Huff) and Louie Ricchio, Brad and Kim McClain, along with his sisters Ashton and Aby, his brother Cayden, and his girlfriend Marie, are all devastated but are standing strong by his side. Ryker’s journey to recovery will be a marathon, requiring extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and unwavering support from his loved ones.
