Rylee Beggs medical payments

On December 11th, Rylee (15) and his friend were in a severe car wreck. Rylee was thrown from the car and had to be life flighted and is now in the icu. Rylee has suffered a TBI in the form of a highly suspected diffuse axonal injury (DAI) which is shearing of the brains long connecting nerve fibers. DAI’s are pretty serious and can cause anything from temporary issues to permanent personality changes. DAI’s typically cause intubation and comas, and they have 3 grades of DAI’s with a higher grade being more severe and a worse prognosis. They won’t know for sure for a couple more days. They’re hoping Rylee calms down and returns closer to his baseline so they can do an MRI within the next few days. The fact that Rylee is breathing on his own likely means he has a low grade. He also has a subdural hematoma, which is a pool of blood between the brain and its covering. They said he will in the ICU at least until tomorrow and then they’ll hopefully be able to move him to the floor where he’ll stay until he’s able to stay awake and eat and drink. If he doesn’t wake up long enough to start eating soon, then they’re going to place a feeding tube in through his nose. They’re shooting for him to start being more alert and waking up longer within the next couple of days. Depending on his progress, he could be able to go home in a few days or he could have to go to a brain rehab for a month or so.

Rylee Ray does not have health insurance due to Thomas (who was carrying his insurance) going self employed and Cathryn’s company was waiting on a letter that he was no longer insured by Thomas’s insurance, causing the worst gap in coverage ever. The life flight alone is going to be an outrageous amount of money. As well as his mom having to to take off of work while he heals. Even when he goes home, he will have to have 24/7 supervision for a while due to this type of injury affecting impulse control etc.

Cathryn and Thomas (Rylee’s parents) never in a million years would ask anyone for money but I am asking on their behalf. Anything you can provide, prayers, and shares would be appreciated
