Help Fund Ryleigh’s Speech Generating Device
Donation protected
We are the Rogers. Our second daughter, Ryleigh was diagnosed with Rett Syndrome in March of 2021. Rett Syndrome occurs worldwide in 1 out of every 10,000 female births. Rett syndrome is a rare genetic neurological disorder that occurs almost exclusively in girls and leads to severe impairments, affecting nearly every aspect of the child’s life: their ability to speak, walk, eat, and even breathe easily. Rett syndrome is caused by mutations on the X chromosome on the MECP2 gene. It presents with a wide range of disability depending on the location, type and severity of the mutation.
Our 1st and biggest goal for Ryleigh at this point is to give her a voice. Since she is non-verbal, this comes in the way of a speech generating device. This device will allow her to use eye gaze to communicate with us through a tablet. As you can imagine, these devices are not cheap. One device will cost $16,500. Any and all donations we receive will go towards Ryleigh getting one of these devices.
From our family to yours, thank you so much for your support.
