Dad Had A Stroke
Donation protected
On Feb. 12, my dad had an acute ischemic stroke that hemmoraged. He had to have an emergency craniectomy, in which the removed a portion of his skull to relieve the brain swelling. He is still unable to feel anything on his left side and is unable to swallow, which has led to him having a feeding tube. After 2.5 weeks in the NTICU at Erlanger, he is now on the neuro floor and is in stable condition. He will have to have several weeks of intense physical, occupational, and speech therapy. Today his case mgr called and said his insurance doesnt have rehab benefits. This is only gonna be used to help build a ramp for him once he gets home, and to cover whatever his insurance won't.
