Annual B-Day & Holiday Fundraiser
Tax deductible
With your help and kindness, this annual fundraiser has raised A LOT of money and made a difference while providing heating assistance in my small hometown of Waldo County in Northern New England.
As usual there are zero obligations, but if you have some funds to spare and a generous heart, I ask you to support me in this cause as you will make a difference.
It's a common thing for me to not ask for any gifts for my birthday and Christmas. I simply want people to spend their time and money on things that make an impact in a more important way. While I do appreciate the thought, I'd rather do something more special for my birthday and holiday celebrations.
This all started with my high school English teacher. She was very kind, caring and giving to her students and community. If you don't know the story, she had numerous bouts with cancer before passing away. Even during her battles she made sure to look out for others.
With her death, a lot of her charitable work was lost, but with your help, I've been able to pick up some of the causes including a scholarship in her memory.
I started up a non-profit to help make this easier for supporters of myself and community. Don't worry, I take absolutely 0% of any money raised.
Every year we continue to be able to donate more than the previous years. Last year was INSANE - an incredible $8300 (if I recall correctly) was given to the local Community Action Program to disperse to community members in need. That destroyed the goal last year by $1300.
I will again pledged $3000 of my own money to this cause that I'm fond of assisting with. I think if we could do another year like last I would be mind-blown, but even a realistic $3000 to $4000 will be a HUGE help to a lot of people in a small cold community in Maine.
