BTGY Uganda Service Project

Bridge the Gap Yoga (BTGY) is a concept that facilitates experiences for people to awaken to their innate potential, connect to the Heart, and actualize their inspiration. We do this by Bridging the Gap between the four major paths of Yoga (Knowledge, Meditation, Selfless Service, and Devotion).  Karma Yoga, or selfless service, is one of the four major paths of Yoga. In our initiative to integrate Karma Yoga into our practice, we would like to give our community the opportunity to serve selflessly for the benefit of the less fortunate. This will take shape as a yearly initiative to not only take practitioners from our community to places we can serve people in need but also in allocating resources to these people throughout the year from the broader (American) community. This campaign marks the first of our service projects.

Grant, Jaden (Founders), and our Creative Director plan on traveling to Jinja, Uganda to assist Emmanuel Musasizi, a director of Arise the Orphan Children Uganda and a dear brother, in his efforts of service to 45 children. This is a preliminary month-long trip (August-September 2020) to connect with/serve the community, teach yoga, and see what we can assist them with in the future. We hope to explore the city and orphanage to really get clear on how we can help them so that in 2021 we can bring a group of people from our community to support them in their needs. The funds we are raising will cover the cost of our trip, all expenses associated with it.

We are grateful for the opportunity to serve in this way and are devoted to making the changes we hope to see in the world within ourselves first. This is Bridge the Gap Yoga. We thank you for walking this journey with us and your commitment to bridging the gap.
