UPDATE: The 2021 Follow Black Women was a success! Thank you for your contribution. We have saved the date for 2022. The conference will be held in Minneapolis again on Sunday, October 16, 2022.
The 2019 Follow Black Women Conference in St. Paul, MN was a glorious and life giving moment for black women. For several black women, and I'd say high percentage of them, THIS moment was the first moment in their lives where they felt completely safe to be who they are without permission, approval, apology or consequences. They felt free, empowered, inspired and alive with joy! This moment was balm for their souls and fire for their spirit. It was healing!
The conference was so well received and applauded that we are going increase the guest seats to 200 this year hoping to double our occupancy and it will be hosted in the Twin Cities again.
With our increased occupancy and adding in conference scholarships (to include airfare, registration fee and hotel expenses) we have also doubled the amount to fund raise to $50,000. We want to send as many black women to the 2021 Conference on scholarship as possible. Black women should not have to pay for joy and healing.
Safe spaces for black women are critical and rare. Black women need safe spaces to be free from racism and spaces where black women can gather to unpack and release the burdens of living in an oppressive society. We need spaces where we can speak our unfiltered truth and be our unapologetic selves. Black women need spaces for sisterhood, healing and nourishment. Black women need spaces where we can celebrate our Black Girl Magic. We need spaces where we can talk about the complexities and challenges of being black and woman. We need spaces where we can love on each other and be loved.
That space is the Follow Black Women Conference!
Catriceology Enterprises, LLC will host the 3rd Annual Follow Black Women Racial Justice Conference in 2021. Conferences like this are rare and revolutionary.
This is a grassroots endeavor and with this being the third year for the conference we are in need of community support. We are in need of YOUR support. If you believe that black women need and deserve safe healing spaces such as this conference please support this fundraiser.
