Met Ruby, the adorable little hound-dog that was lucky enough to survive a total loss house fire.
While any large loss like a house fire would be unfortunate at any time, Neal and Leslie Fulton have the added bad luck of losing everything just before the holidays. The fire marshals said the fire had been so hot that they could not even salvage the dishes by washing them due to the chemicals that had been released.
I have had the pleasure of getting to know Mrs. Fulton through her position as an English teacher at King George Middle School. She is a lovely lady, and a great teacher. While I am very happy that she was uninjured despite losing her house and belongings, I was heartbroken to hear about her misfortune. I have seen and felt the fallout of realizing things are gone forever and would not wish that on my worst enemy, let alone a colleague I have the utmost respect for. Teaching English to middle school students is a hard job, and Mrs. Fulton does it very well. Even after this loss she came right back to make sure the kids in her care did not fall behind.
As the family is currently living in a hotel and with the holidays coming up I want to ask for anything you are willing and able to spare to help this family get back on its feet. I am hoping to raise enough funds for Leslie and Neal to not feel as big of a blow from this loss; help them pay through hotel life, help supplement what they've lost, and maybe help their holidays not be as dreary.
