"You beat cancer by how you live , why you live, and in the manner in which you live"
Stuart Scott
This is the post I never wanted to have reason to write. On Wednesday, December 23rd, a little after 730 am, Wendy Black lost her courageous five year battle with ovarian cancer. She was 52 years old.
She died at home surrounded by her loving family and her beloved dog.
This fundrasing effort was started in hopes that the many lives Wendy touched would come together to help with her final expenses.
I would like to share what her partner of 14 years, Christine wrote on behalf of this fundrasising effort because it is she who knew her best.
"Wendy lived such a selfless life with much excitement and a childlike enthusiasm. She never met a stranger and did all she could to help other people and animals. We have a heavy heart now that she is gone, for she will never be replaced. However, her beautiful smile, kind actions, and her ability to make everyone laugh will forever live on in our hearts and words.
Wendy did not have life insurance and we have final expenses on top of the already mounting medical expenses that we need help with. We would appreciate anything anyone could do to help. "
On that note, please consider donating to help Christine and the rest of Wendy's family during this difficult time. I can guarantee that Wendy would be the first one to offer help if the situation was reversed.
Thank you to everyone who has been with Wendy throughout her life, and especially over the past 5 years since her diagnosis. You lifted her spirits, lightened her burden and helped her in ways you could only imagine. There is strength in numbers--and Wendy Black has an army of supporters behind her for sure. Let us all show up to help!
