520km sponsored cycle raising money for child.org
Donation protected
As I start to think about my upcoming surgery on Thursday, I have been reflecting on what got me through all my last surgeries - a good physical challenge to focus on!
So - guess what I’ve done? Booked my next challenge! This one is a big step up from my previous challenges, but I’m hoping it will give me the required determination to sail through surgery on Thursday and bounce back quickly.
In November, I’ll be heading to Kenya with @rideafrica to cycle 520km (yes you read that right!) from Amboseli National Park to Mombasa . The whole ride should take around 5 days, and will include riding through wildlife parks, villages, lava fields, hills and African rives. I’ll share more on the exact itinerary in the weeks and months to come.
So post surgery recovery, I should have just over 3 months to train to be ready for this. Considering cycling has never been my thing, this could be interesting
Over the past 18 months, you have all been so generous in sponsoring my challenges. I have chosen a different charity to raise money for this time - child.org - a charity that focuses on global health for children.
Not only is every donation hugely appreciated by the charity, but also by me - these challenges have been a huge part in keeping me going through all my surgeries and treatment. Thank you again
