7 years ago my family and I came to the United States, the land of opportunity. Throughout my years of living here I have made it my goal to be as productive as possible and to take advantage of all the opportunities presented to me. I am beyond grateful and sincerely appreciative of the opportunities that have been presented to me during my residency here, but it is not all it seems. When I began high school it was made known to me that this phase of my life was pivotal and that if I fell behind it would be an extreme detriment to my future, I did not take lightly to this. I am currently a senior at Eaglecrest high school on track to graduate in May, my GPA is a 4.2, I scored a 27 on my ACT, I have ran varsity track for 4 years and recently broke the school record for the 4x400m with my teammates, I also played varsity football since my sophomore year and I am a member of National Honor Society and an Honors Diploma Graduate. Recently I was informed that I (because of my visa status) am unable to file for any form of financial aid, whether it is a merit scholarship or a student loan, I have been accepted the The University of Colorado Boulder, Metropolitan State University, and Colorado Mesa University. I am unable to accept any of the scholarships I have been offered by these fine institutions; this leaves me with no way to defray the cost of my college education that I have worked so hard to reach. I am certainly discouraged by my cirumstances, but I am not the type to shy in the face of adversity, this is another obstacle that I must overcome, and with your help I just might be able to.
