Jim Welch
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Ashleigh Macleod, and I am raising funds for funeral costs for Jim Welch, my dad. My dad didn't want flowers for remembrance but would prefer, if you feel so inclined, to donate to his funeral expenses to help his family. Thank you so much.
James Frank Welch, better known to those who loved him as Jim, of Conroe, Tx passed away Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 75 years young ater a battle with cancer. He leaves behind Robin Welch, his wife of 32 years, daughters Kassandra Hall and Ashleigh Macleod, son in laws Robert Hall and Will Macleod and grandchildren Shyenne Hall, Zoey Hall, Walker Macleod and Cordell Macleod as well as other family members and many great friends.
Jim came into this world ready to wreak havoc on January 19th, 1947 in East Liverpool, Ohio to parents Marvel and Frank Welch. Him and his 3 brothers and 2 sisters were raised on a farm in Pensylvania, where he learned how to work the land and the value of hard work. The farm came before education then, so much of Jim's educatuion was self taught by reading at a young age, and by frequent travel and an open mind later in life.
Jim realized when his daughters were young that if you want to get anywhere in life and succeed, you can't do it sitting still and working for others, so in 1995 he started an endeavor into his own insurance business. After years of dedicated hard work, J.F. Welch Insurances Services took off, giving him the means to work from home and supoport his girls and wife, while also showing his family the world, as he believed the best way to learn was to experience life.
When people first saw Jim, they saw a man covered in tattoos with long hair in a ponytail, but he was so much more than that. He loved good people, good music, good food and tequila, and cheap beer. Gold panning and wood working were his passions, and he excelled at them. The things that mattered the most to Jim though were his wife, daughters and later his grandbabies. He worked hard for his family to make sure they were not only provided for but happy and thriving. He loved to teach and share his life experiences with anyone who thought to ask him. He wa stubborn to his core to the very end, but Jim lived a full, vivid life, and made an impact on all who had the good fortune to know him.
Services will be held at McNutt Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 5th, 2022 at 2PM.
In lieu of flowers, Jim asked for donations to be made towards his services as in his own words direct to Kassy, "I don't want you to say you paid for my funeral."
