Raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity
On the 1st of March our lives were turned upside down when Dad suffered a seizure unexpectedly. After scans and tests we were told he had a tumour in his brain on his left frontal lobe and were referred to neurosurgeons in Bristol to discuss treatment.
on the 17th of March after a meeting with the Neurosurgeon who went through dads options and prognosis of each, Dad bravely decided to go ahead with surgery and all available treatment options possible (radiotherapy and chemotherapy).
On the 21st of March they managed to remove all of Dads tumour, which we were so relieved to hear. The removal of the tumour enabled us to confirm an exact diagnosis which revealed Dad has an aggressive type of brain tumour called a Glioblastoma which is particularly resistant to treatment.
Dad starts radiotherapy on Monday 28th of April 5 days a week for 6 weeks alongside chemotherapy. We have a long road ahead with him, but we’re are by his side every single step of the way and we all love him dearly.
I decided I wanted to put my mind to something to keep it occupied. But also to raise money to fund research , and support to people and their families going through this.
So I'm raising money in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity by running the Cheltenham Half Marathon and every donation will help no matter how small. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me all donations will be going to world-class research, providing support and information and raising awareness of brain tumours.
