Tour de Hans

Donation protected
In the fall of 2016, my uncle Dr. Hans N. Sheridan passed away leaving behind an amazing legacy. Among many other accomplishments, he had received the highest citizen award not only in his home state of Indiana (Sagamore Of The Wabash), but also in the neighboring state of Kentucky (Kentucky Colonel). He dedicated his life to education and directed the racial balancing of Fort Wayne Community Schools during his 32-year school career.

A Scottish Rite 33rdDegree, he was a founding board member of the Fort Wayne Boys And Girls Club and served on the boards of countless charitable organizations. His many other accomplishments are too numerous to mention in this letter. In short, he improved the lives of nearly everyone he met. His obituary bio is below.

His influence on my life and our family was tremendous and immeasurable. His love of travel took him to all 50 states and more than 15 countries where he enjoyed beer, wine, fine cigars and golf. This sense of adventure inspired me to embark on a journey designed to raise money for the organizations he loved and honor his incredible legacy.

His favorite city on the West Coast was San Francisco. His favorite city on the East Coast was Boston. This year, I am planning to walk and ride my bike a total of 3,097 miles in and around Indianapolis, which represents the distance from San Francisco to Boston. I will complete this distance by June 3, 2020, which would have been his 79th birthday.

We’d love for you to follow this symbolic journey as it plays out. We will be posting updates every Monday at:
