Project iHOPE x Operation Smile
Tax deductible
Want to join me in making a difference? Project iHOPE is raising money to benefit Operation Smile, Inc., and any donation will help create an impact. Thank you in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to Operation Smile.
Operation Smile knows that cleft surgery and related treatments offer optimism and hope at any age. In many underserved areas of the world, people can't get the surgical care they need when they need it. Operation Smile works hand in glove to elevate local surgical standards and entire health systems to reach more people earlier in their lives, bringing healing to patients, families and communities as its long-term mission. That's how they're creating a better world, and they can't do this without you.
So, what are a cleft lip and cleft palate?
A cleft palate occurs when the tissue that makes up the roof of the mouth does not completely join together during pregnancy, resulting in an opening in the palate of the mouth. A cleft lip occurs when the tissue that makes up the lip does not completely fuse together before birth. These complications typically occur during the fourth - seventh weeks of pregnancy. These orofacial clefts typically occur due to the mother's genetic mutations and family history, or environmental factors, such as: smoking, consumption of alcohol, insufficient nutrients which puts children at risk for malnutrition, infections during pregnancy, diabetes, or certain medications that the mother consumes. Children with cleft lip or cleft palate struggle with dental problems, feeding, difficulty breathing, speech impediment, ear infections and hearing impairment.
Once again, thank you all for your kind donations. For every $250, 1 child is gifted with a free and safe cleft surgery.
