St Vincent volcano relief fund
RELIEF FOR VINCENTIANS
On the morning of April 9th the first of several major explosions, rocked the peaceful life on the Caribbean island of St Vincent, in the West Indies.
Since 1979 La Soufrière, the volcano on the northern side of the island has been silent, leaving residents in a state of shock and despair when they realized, that the sleepy giant wasn’t, after all, so silent anymore. A national emergency has been declared and, according to published reports, 30,000 people have been already evacuated. The volcano is set to be active for the next foreseeable weeks and possibly months...leaving its residents in a state of uncertainty.
Much of Saint Vincent is now covered in ash and Vincentians are in urgent need of clean water, respiratory masks, cots, tents, blankets, hygienic kits and food supplies.
St Vincent has been for years, a magical place, an incredible island with an incredible heart, always ready to welcome visitors and travelers alike with open arms, always eager to share its natural beauty, its unparalleled blue waters and its gorgeous beaches with the entire world. Now, the Vincentians, need the world’s help. It’s time to reciprocate and to show our support.
I am setting up this fund in the hope of raising awareness around this cause. No amount is too small and the entirety of the donations will go directly to the MCF, Mustique Charitable Foundation, dedicated to helping those who are in need in St Vincent. Your donation is tax deductible and your support is priceless, touching the lives of so many.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
With love,
Clara
