Support a Family's Recovery from Hurricane Helene
Donation protected
It's hard to put into words the mix of emotions I'm feeling right now – fear, sadness, and a desperate hope that we can overcome this. Just a few months ago, we were filled with excitement, moving to Asheville to begin a new chapter. Now, after Hurricane Helene, that dream feels fragile, like sand slipping through our fingers.
We were lucky compared to some, but our home was badly damaged. Fema is taking her time and messed up our initial application, The roof leaks every time it rains, making us feel unsafe in our own home. The driveway is a jungle gym, My truck had liability and crushed, we still don't have clean running water or Internet service. But on top of it The financial strain is immense. The high insurance deductible, the lost wages, the constant worry... it feels like we're drowning.
Every day, I drive past the wreckage of our community, places that held so much promise just a short time ago. My heart aches for our neighbors who lost everything. My children are back in school, but their laughter feels muted, replaced by a quiet anxiety that breaks my heart. I try to be strong for them, but some nights, I just cry myself to sleep.
We're both working tirelessly to rebuild our lives, but the truth is, we need a helping hand. We need a lifeline. Any donation, big or small, would be a beacon of hope in this dark time. Even just sharing our story would mean the world to us.
From the depths of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and support. We believe in the power of community, and we pray that together, we can rise above this disaster.
