Jamie Christensen; Medical Expenses

Hi, I'm Leon Ling. I am starting this go fund me to help my mom.

My mom, Jamie Christensen, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer with mets to the bones. She had just started her first radiation treatment the first week of December. On Saturday, December 9th, my mom suffered a stroke immoblizing her. She is unable to use the right side of her body but still has a small amount of feeling in her right leg. The doctors and nurses have been trying to get her pain medication figured out as she has been in such a terrible amount of pain from her cancer.

My mom Jamie is such a strong woman. She has an entire army around her, and no one in this family fights alone. My mom is a very loving, caring , funny, amazing grandma, sister, wife, and friends to many.

She was born and raised in Burnaby British Columbia. She raised my sister Stephanie and I in Coquitlam, British Columbia. She has 4 beautiful grand kids. Madison , Damian, Amarah and Mark. She loves them so very much.

She worked at the Coquitlam RCMP for over 20 years, part time at Ridge-Meadows RCMP for 10+ years in the dispatch and CPIC unit. She loved her job and was great at it.

She moved with her partner Chris to Sicamous B.C. in 2021 to enjoy their retirement. Chris works with the community doing yoga and music. She works with Sicamous rcmp and volunteers at the local thrift store part-time.

My mom is active in her community and surrounding areas. She owns a business called "Our walk with buddha" selling authentic indian pieces of jewelry, crystals, linens, musical instruments and pottery. She helps support her local colleagues and from afar.

She goes to many markets and fundraisers locally and abroad.

My mom and Chris have 2 dogs named Hunter and Zoey. They are their pride and joy. They enjoy spending time on their daily walks down to the river.

We are starting this fund raiser to help support my mom to pay for extra expenses towards medical, travel, bills, loss of wages to help and to support family members be there to support her at all times.

Unfortunately, our mom is unable to communicate. I am a 7+ hour drive (Alberta) from the care center. My sister Stephanie is also a 4+ hour drive to my mom.

My mom and her partner Chris live 1 hour drive to and from the care center.

We are still unsure if she will be moved to vernon, kamloops, or kelowna. We just know it will be in the works, and we will need to get a solid plan started. That way, my mom will have all the support in the world. This will require more travel and time away from home, as none of these care centers are local.

My sister Stephanie , Chris, and I will all be coming from out of town to help her. We could really use all your support and prayers.

Our family would like to be by her side as much as possible during this time. Any support would be greatly appreciated.

We hope my mom will not have to worry about anything. This will help give her some peace of mind.
