Family and Treatment Support

It has been a whole year since our whole world has changed. When Roy was first diagnosed with a glioblastoma (brain cancer) he was given 15 months to live. This amazing husband and father has been through the unimaginable in 365 days. Since a year ago he has had 2 brain surgeries (within 1 month to remove tumors and an infection which caused a spine fusion. We had a very scary day where his body couldn’t take anymore and coded…for 8 minutes. When we were telling the family we had to say goodbye because the doctors said he wasn’t going to wake up, that night a deer appeared in our back yard. We didn’t think anything of it. We prepared ourselves to go in and say goodbye, we walked back and he was awake and talking! It was a miracle and the deer was him telling us he was still fighting. The dear appeared the same exact time as the time he woke up (something from the movies, I know but true and amazing) Roy ended up in the hospital and assisted living for 3 months. We were told that the chemo and radiation was going to give him more than 15 months. He finally came home and his wife Janet and son Matthew were left to take care of him physically, mentally and financially. Roy’s son sold his dream home to find a place that can accommodate Roy’s needs and to be close by for assistance. Things have been miraculously looking up until now. The tumor has been growing again and is time for more treatment. The treatment is $1,000 a month. Roy and his wife are retired and that is A LOT of money for someone not working and having to take care of Roy 24/7. We are asking for help for an amazing family to be able to afford treatment. Roy’s son is getting married October 2024 and we need him there to be part of such an important moment in our lives. Please help us with whatever you can to help pay for his medications and living arrangements.
