Noah Slatem's fight against Leukaemia
Donation protected
In the blink of an eye, your life can be flipped upside down. For the Slatem family, that moment came with three heart-stopping words about their 4-year-old son: "Noah has Leukaemia."
At just four years old, Noah Slatem's world has been transformed from friends, playgrounds and laughter to doctors, nurses, hospital rooms and the other harsh realities that come with chemotherapy. Noah, who should be enjoying his childhood with his usual boundless amount of energy, is instead facing the biggest fight of all - a fight he and his family are determined to win!
This page has been set up by the Slatems' closest friends to support Noah and his family (Liam, Shay and baby Harper) in their fight against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Your support will help them through their darkest hours and allow them to focus on Noah and his 2-year treatment journey ahead.
Noah's journey is not just about endless hospital visits and painful treatments of chemotherapy, bone marrow aspirations, lumbar punctures and blood transfusions, it's a struggle that has turned his family's world upside down. His parents, Liam and Shay, are living a reality where the sounds of medical machines have replaced their son's laughter.
Noah now needs around-the-clock care and monitoring. Shay and Liam are both self-employed, which means a significantly reduced household income while they work part-time and share the care. Above all, imagine the strength it takes to put on a brave face and a smile for Noah and his baby sister in the face of such uncertainty.
Your donations will help cover their regular travel to the hospital, which is currently 3+ times a week (75 mins away), provide necessary accommodation for overnight stays, nursery care for Harper and support other basic day-to-day living expenses. Every penny raised here means one less worry for Liam and Shay; one more moment, they can focus solely on Noah and his little 1-year-old sister, Harper. Every day is a new challenge, and there are still lots of unknown expenses they will be faced with along the road.
If you're able to and would like to donate, any amount will be so appreciated, but if you're not in a position to donate, just sharing Noah's story and saying a little prayer for our warrior will also make a huge difference. Let's show Noah and his family that they're not alone in this fight and this disease has nothing on this resilient family.
In the spirit of paying it forward, any funds beyond their immediate needs will be donated to support others in similar situations. Shay and Liam have been incredibly heartbroken each time they’ve befriended another parent in the children's oncology ward. Many families within the ward have little or no support, and they know that with further funds raised during Noah’s journey, they can help change this.
Thank you for your time, your kindness, and your support of our Brave, Kind, Important, Strong little boy, Noah.
