Belle Needs Surgery
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Jason, and I am fundraising for my wife(Kelly Proulx-Fairbanks) and I's pomeranian Belle. I may be objective, but in my opinion, Belle is the cutest little dog ever! She has been in our family since she was a puppy. First belonging to my wife's mother; we took her while she was hospitalized with Covid last year. She is an amazing dog with a great personality. She loves taking walks with her sister Xena, and Mom and Dad. Recently, she started having issues with her right ear. It started a few months ago. She was getting a black discharge and blood from the ear that would dry and get stuck in her ear, and we would clean it out, and a couple of days later, it was back. We decided to take her in to be seen. She was seen at Lakes Veterinary & Surgical Center in Lindstrom, MN, in early June of this year for this issue. The Vet there gave her a syringe of some medication in her ear and put her on oral steroids for two weeks, and follow-up after. She was seen at the follow-up, and her ear was better, but they still couldn't see the eardrum, and she should come back in two more weeks, which was today, July 28. Today the vet took a swab from her ear and said the infection was under control and couldn't figure out why she had the black discharge again. So he cleaned the ear and stuck his microscope in her ear, and found a blockage in her ear. He tried washing it out and getting it out, but Belle would not sit still long enough to let him try. So we were told that she would need to be sedated to have surgery to remove the blockage. The estimate of the surgery is up to 1,329.30. We would need the low end of the estimate to schedule the surgery, and we can not afford that. Her ear will continue to irritate her and get worse until we can have the surgery. Any amount will help to reach our goal. We have already spent hundreds of dollars on vet visits in the last two months for Belle's ear. We hate seeing her like this; it breaks our heart not being able to get this done right away. She does not deserve to suffer with this any longer; it has already been too long. We love this dog more than we like most people!!
