My best friend of 25 years, was diagnosed with breast cancer on Feb 22, 2023.

Danielle is a 40 year old single mom with 2 beautiful daughters, Violet and Emilie. She lives in Massachusetts, away from all her family and friends and has found it difficult to do everything on her own while being sick and working.

She will be undergoing a double mastectomy on April 18th. Thankfully, her employer provides generous short-term disability coverage. However, this coverage provides only a portion of her salary, which will be helpful but not sufficient to cover all her bills and expenses. She has 2 weeks of PTO available, during which she will receive 100% of her salary, but her recovery period is estimated to be between 6 to 12 weeks. Even though additional recovery time is needed, she feels like she will need to return to work after taking 2 weeks of PTO in order to make ends meet.

She works incredibly hard to take care of her kids and is running thin on energy between working 12 hour days, running kids to school and after school activities, house chores, and the constant doctors appointments. She could really use some help to be able to recover properly. She is not the kind of person to ever ask for help, but even she realizes that she can’t do all of this alone now.
