Max's Road to Recovery

Dear Friends and Family of Maxwell
We are reaching out to ask for your support for our brave Maxwell who has been courageously fighting in RCH ICU to recover from Influenza A, Myocarditis and Myositis.
Max was like any typical healthy and active 9-year boy enjoying the school holidays and getting ready to see all his friends for the next school term when all of a sudden became very unwell with viral symptoms, vomiting and complaining of aches here and there.
Max was admitted to Flinders Medical Centre and then immediately transferred to Women's and Children's Hospital, Adelaide where he was intubated and flown over by PIPER to RCH Melbourne and went into cardiogenic shock and was placed on ECMO support and dialysis after suffering an acute kidney injury.
Max's sudden onset illness and health deterioration completely shocked his family and remains in the ICU with his Mum, Arlene and Nan remain at Max's bedside positive and hopeful.
Who could've known a common cold or virus could be so harmful in the Community and we are so grateful and thankful for all the medical and nursing teams that have been involved in Max's care.
The emotional and financial strain of this ordeal has been overwhelming, and we as Arlene's closest friends are asking for your help and support to ease the financial burden.
Your generous donations will go directly towards Max's rehabilitation when back home in Adelaide and any further additional medical support he may require during this difficult time in Melbourne, also the additional costs required.
Please consider donating and sharing this with your family and friends' networks. Every contribution, big or small, will make a significant difference in Max's long road to recovery and we shall endeavor to keep you all updated.
Love from your Friends Forever xxx
