Support David and his family
Donation protected
Hello all, I’m Kayla, I have given myself the task to setup this fundraiser for the suppa / annahatak family - every penny counts.
During a sunny lunch hour in Kangirsuk, an electrical problem occurred behind closed doors within the home. David and his family unaware of the situation, were given only 30 seconds by the unforgiving flames to evacuate the dangerous situation. 10 people were in the home, one toddler was napping in a separate room.
Heroically and selflessly, David had ran into his burning 3 bedroom home, 4 times. To ensure the safety of everyone. Resulting a 3rd degree burn at most. Given oxygen tanks to combat the deadly smoke 4 people (including the toddler and David’s wife) had inhaled.
Two people were med-evaced to a more resourceful hospital in Kuujjuaq to treat the burns. And from this point; I would have to keep in touch to see how the recovery will go and what their next steps to healing are.
David is a well respected and known man in his community of Kangirsuk, happily married. Prior to this devastating incident; he had plans to take his family to a fishing trip and enjoy the spring season - only for odds to take a horrific turn, engulfing absolutely everything into flames leaving them with nothing.
these funds will directly benefit and support the needs of each individual affected by the fire.
Things like toddler shoes, children’s clothes, meal plans, home necessities like beds, cookware, bathroom supplies, down to a drop of tooth paste.
For anyone who donates or shares this story at all, thank you. You are contributing to a family’s hope for healing. Hope for recovery. Hope for safety.
