This fund is for our beautiful daughter, Isabelle.
Last November, she noticed a lump on the left-hand side of her neck. She thought it was just a muscle strain and didn't think much about it. She was barely keeping her head above water, finishing her last semester at UVU to get her degree in Early Childhood Education. She worked full-time as the General Manager at Dominos, working 50+ hours a week. In addition to all this, it was Christmas time. It was a busy time in her life, but the lump still hadn't gone away. She went to get an ultrasound at the end of December to see what it was, but it didn't reveal anything. The doctor suggested that she see a specialist. The soonest available appointment was at the end of January. The lump was still there. She met with the specialist, and they said that she should meet with an oncologist because they didn't think it was a muscle strain. She met with a specialist, and they thought it might be lymphoma (cancer), but they weren't sure. She needed to have many tests done and meet with other specialists to determine exactly what it was. She told her mom and me that she might have lymphoma on Feb 9th. She was scared and devastated to hear that it might be cancer. No one wants to hear that.
Over the next two weeks, it seemed she had to do countless tests (i.e., blood work, ultrasounds, MRI, CT scan, biopsy, ultrasound again, PET scan, more blood work, Echo scan) that would reveal to the doctors exactly what it was. While getting these tests done, she met with approximately a dozen doctors, nurses, and specialists. She was finally able to meet with a medical oncologist on Feb 21.
She was diagnosed with Stage 2 Classic Hodgkin's Lymphoma.
It's not what we wanted to hear, but it's good to finally get some answers and a path forward. The doctor and nurses told her (and us) what to expect over, at a minimum, the next three months. She'll be going through two to three rounds of chemotherapy. It will be a very difficult time for her while she goes through this process. There will be bad days and some good days. We hope and pray that she gets better.
For all that know Isabelle, she is an amazing, beautiful, and strong daughter. We are grateful she got her degree in Early Childhood Education and plans to open her own preschool in the future. She is a shinning light to all that know her. She is the kindest person (confirmed by Cedar Hill Elementary School) you will ever meet. She is a hard worker, a supportive friend, and the most amazing person you will ever meet. She is a "sunshine when skies are grey" (especially when she is driving around her little bug... when it works.) She loves spending time with her family, playing games, hammocking, Disney, teaching, rollercoasters, sunshine, and listening to music.
She's already been through a lot in her young life. She's had to go on medical leave from work for the time being (something she has worked so hard for). She'll most likely lose her beautiful hair in the process and may experience other health challenges. The doctor who did her biopsy said that this would be just a "blip" in her life. We believe that.
We know many of you would like help. The best thing would be to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. We've set up this Go Fund Me to help her while she goes through this medical journey. We are grateful to you all for your love and support. We know she will get through this. We know that Heavenly Father is mindful of her needs. We trust in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, to help her get through this challenge. All things are possible with Him.
Thank you again for your love and support. We love you Isabelle!
