Handicap Accessible Van
Donation protected
Thank you to anyone who is taking the time to read this and consider donating! This is my mom and I 4 short years ago at my bridal shower. My mother has Multiple Sclerosis, which is a neuromuscular disorder. Over time, as the disease progresses, more and more of her muscles are affected and become increasingly tight, weak and spastic. She has good days and bad days, like with any disease, but more are bad than good. Over the past 2-2.5 years her disease has progressed immensely and she is now almost wheelchair bound. She can stand long enough to walk short distances, but requires a walker and someone to physically move her feet forward for her. She and my father live in a two-story double home. She is no longer able to use stairs which poses many problems since there is no bedroom or bathroom on the first floor. They need first floor living arrangements, a motorized wheelchair to help her get around the house better and a wheelchair accessible van in order to transport her to appointments, etc. They simply can’t afford it all.
We are trying to raise money to help pay primarily for a van. I fear if they use all their current and limited resources to buy a van, they will be unable to pursue their search for a wheelchair or a handicap accessible home which are both necessities. Thank you in advance for any help you can lend, big or small! God bless!
