Do you ever hear about someone that just can't catch a break and wish there was some way you could help?
As some of you know Julie & Shay's oldest son, Dvir, was hospitalized last month with acute liver failure and non-contagious autoimmune hepatitis. While Dvir is home now and on the road to recovery with the help of medications, his body continues to fight against itself and he needs continual monitoring and testing at Georgetown Hospital for an unknown period of time. Dvir is not yet back at school, but hoping to go back the last few weeks of the year for a few hours to complete Math in order to graduate 6th grade.
Soon after settling back home from the hospital, a kitchen leak causing mold was discovered, requiring significant repairs/renovations. Due to the discovery of mold, combined with Dvir's autoimmune condition, he cannot be in a contaminated environment. Therefore in order to keep the family together, they cannot stay in their home right now.
As you can imagine, these series of events have caused unexpected additional expenses - medical, home, transportation, dietary restrictions, etc.
They are doing their best to keep some degree of normalcy during this time, especially for their other children (Harel 10, and Noa 4).
Many of you have reached out and asked how you can help Julie & Shay during this difficult time. Offers of food and errands and childcare are greatly appreciated, but logistically difficult to coordinate. Thus, any small monetary contribution will go a long way in helping offset these added costs.
Julie & Shay are overwhelmed with the love & support everyone has shown.
Thank you all so much.
