Sabi Dorr Funeral and Memorial

Late on Tuesday, December 5th, after spending his day pretty much like any other - sharing funny videos with his kids, family and friends, giving encouragement and love, Sabi Dorr passed away unexpectedly in his home.

A wildly talented actor, and a larger than life soul, Sabi was passion personified. His generosity of spirit touched everyone he met.

To know him was to love him, and to be loved by him was to be bathed in unwavering warmth. He was iconic and ageless - his absence leaves behind an unfathomable emptiness, and we are frozen in grief.

As his son Daniel’s partner of nearly a decade, I, Hope, have been privileged to experience up close how much Sabi loved it all - life, art, a good meal, and with his entire being, his family most of all. It is our hope that we can honor him in his passing, the way we were all touched and honored by his way of being.

When Sabi died, he left behind no plans or wishes for how best to celebrate his life and honor him, so we are doing the best we can. Unfortunately we cannot set a funeral date until we have the funds to do so.

Knowing him as we do, those closest to him and his family wish to bury him here in Los Angeles - fitting for a man who loved acting and loved Hollywood, making it his home away from his homeland of Israel. Following the burial, we will celebrate his life with a memorial service befitting of the late great Sabi Dorr, a legendary presence, who is so beloved and will be deeply missed.
