Sabine's Family Home Fund for Ann Prepare Lavni

Hello everyone! Let me introduce you to a lovely young woman named Sabine. She is a 23yo Kindergarten teacher and an English interpreter for the non-profit group Ann Prepare Lavni (APL https://annpreparelavni.org/ (https://annpreparelavni.org/) ) in Pedernales, Dominican Republic. She and her family fled Haiti due to political and economic strife and started to make a life for themselves until tragedy struck. In October 2022, Sabine, her mother, and four brothers lost their home and all their personal belongings during a house fire in which they barely escaped with their lives. They are currently living in a makeshift shack made of metal sheets with no running water or electricity.

In June 2023 my colleagues and I recently met Sabine on a medical mission trip sponsored by APL to Haiti and the Dominican Republic. She was an interpreter for the group. Despite her hardships Sabine showed up every day to work on time, ready to take on her job assignments. We were unaware of her circumstances until visiting her home one evening. She didn’t ask for much, just prayers and we were all moved to tears.
