Sabrina’s cancer Healing & Wellness Campaign

Sabrina is a 38 year old dedicated lone parent  to a seven year old son. In July 2012, one month after celebrating her 34th birthday, Sabrina was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. Following  this, she underwent and endured invasive and aggressive treatment, which consisted of; breast surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, for a period of 12 months.

During her chemotherapy treatment, Sabrina also unnecessarily sustained a severe chemical burn to her healthy breast, which caused both physical and mental damage.  Naturally Sabrina was devastated, as this was a further blow and setback to an already difficult situation.

Following Sabrina's aggressive treatment, some of the side effects included complete hair loss, all over body aches and pains, extreme weight gain, and excessive lethargy, all of which impacted Sabrina's ability to spend quality time with her son, family and friends.  Consequently Sabrina became somewhat of a recluse during this point, making this very difficult for her family and friends to witness.

Sabrina’s Mother, who herself suffers from a chronic illness (Rheumatoid Arthritis) became her main carer due to Sabrina's inability to care for herself and then two year old son.  Due to lack of support, Sabrina’s Mother was forced to pick up the reigns and care for them both.

Eventually Sabrina began to slowly piece her life back together, and despite many practical challenges she was able to return to the job that she so loves, working with offenders tackling domestic abuse.

Sabrina's nurturing and caring character has led her to dedicate her entire working life to working with some of the most vulnerable members of society. This includes working with abused children in local authority care, providing family support for struggling families, working with the elderly, to her current long standing position within offending behaviour/criminal justice.

Nothing could have prepared Sabrina for what was to come next after being in remission for a period of two years.  Following a routine check-up for further reconstruction surgery, a recurrence of the disease was detected, and unfortunately later confirmed.

Sabrina is now fighting stage 4 Cancer which is unfortunately incurable, but treatable.

Being the fighter and eternal optimist that Sabrina is, Sabrina is not prepared to accept the prognosis she's been given, and following several months of in-depth research, looking into alternative cancer therapies, Sabrina has been thrown a life-line.

This comes in the form of a facility based in Mexico, which specialises in integrative & advanced alternative cancer treatment therapies. The facility is renowned for giving people a second chance at life, when conventional medicine has given up on  them. This is where Sabrina believes her true healing journey will begin.

Sabrina’s vibrant & energetic character has been dramatically impacted by her ordeal.  From her inability to leave the house to carry out routine daily tasks, to challenges of undertaking her own personal care, or being the active parent that she has always been to her son. This understandably is having an additional negative impact on her already fragile frame of mind.

Sabrina is the sole carer of her son, and is naturally concerned about how this situation is affecting him. He has been through far more than any child should have to, especially in his tender years. This is an increasing worry for her. Sabrina is also looking into different therapies for her son which will hopefully help him through what can only be described as a very traumatic time. Unfortunately many of these have to be self-funded.

We her family are trying to raise the substantial funds to help aid the cost of her  treatment, expenses and the aftercare required to follow the very strict treatment protocol to her healing. We hope that gofundme can assist in our efforts to deliver Sabrina’s second chance at living a full and rewarding life; whilst fulfilling her most cherished role as a Mother.

All donations are gratefully received and appreciated (no matter how small).

Thanking you in advance.
