SACRAMENTINE SISTERS WISHES
Donation protected
My sister Maureen is a Catholic nun in a small town in Kenya called Rongo. Maureen belongs to the Sacramentine sisters’ congregation who live in Rongo town and run a nursery school called Comensoli nursery school. At the school, they admit children from ages 2-6 years and currently, they care for about 320 children. The children stay at the school from 0800 AM to 0400 PM Monday through Friday during the school year.
During their time at the school, the nuns educate and provide emotional support for the children. The sisters also provide food, PE equipment, books and toys for the children. Because most of the children come from low-income families, their parents are unable to pay for tuition and other fees to help care for the children. And because of the financial difficulty, the nuns must improvise and rely on donors and well-wishers to run the school.
I was very touched the last time I visited the school when I noticed that the school's roof was leaking, and the nuns did not have money to do the repair. During my visit, I also realized that the kids had dolls made of wood and banana leaves. My sister later told me that they were struggling to run the school because they did not have enough money to buy all the supplies they needed to run the school effectively. She also expressed concerned about the leaking roof.
After talking to my sister, I realized that she needed a lot of help and I knew for sure that I could not do this by myself. Therefore I am reaching out to you all to help me through this process to help make their dreams of having a new roof and any financial assistance come true.
The donations will help fund PE equipment, the roof, and free lunch for the children. This help will surely mean a lot to the sisters of Sacramentine and me.
