Sacred Step Counseling Startup Campaign 100 steps!

“All My Greatest Teachers Showed Me Love” is a fresh new podcast for those needing relief from the rising tension of the election year and uncertainty of our times. Xan is compelled to create positive mental health content through stories and invites others to be a part of the solution, reconnecting with purpose to say ‘thank you’ to our beloved teachers. Through the art of conversation Xan will dive deep and interview 12 teachers from various communities over a course of a year to preserve the wisdom of our beloved mentors and discover who their greatest influences are, the culture they were born into and why they were called to become a teacher.

Your support will help Xan purchase basic equipment and start up business fees as many of you know Xan recently became a Mental Health Counselor. Opening professional services through Sacred Step Counseling after a career in the Theatre Arts & Caregiving arena, Xan is uniquely blending her talents and reaching out to a larger community. Chronicling her varied mental health journey through the lens of her inspiring beloved teachers, Xan considers the love that they showed not only for the subject, but the art, the community and most importantly herself. Identifying as a person who has lived with shame for decades around body size, sexuality, socio-economic status, singledom, and a processing divergence Xan wants to map and authentically share how she managed to cope in and out of the throws of trauma.

The podcast content will explore when, where, our paths crossed and through sharing our stories create positive content that provides antidotes for community connection and active engagement with processing our lives and selves. Xan strongly believes that in light of our skyrocketing mental health crisis the only way out is to build stronger community connections and share creative ways to help people find a path that works for their individual circumstance. Through a multicultural lens each podcast will address the culture the particular teacher grew up in, pertinent family of origin stories, religious beliefs and current life philosophies that fuel their passion for being a driving force for change in their organizations and communities.

I am grateful for your support and encouragement along my path to healing however we may have met or if we have not met yet. Xan is confident that when she knew she was ready and rested after graduating that she would find the platform to place her stamp on the world and reach a wide audience.
