Sacred Vibes: Please support my growth & expansion

On June 1, 2020, I was accepted out of a large pool of applicants for an apprenticeship with Master Herbalist Karen Rose of Sacred Vibes Apothecary in Brooklyn, New York (yay!!). This is a six month program that will start on Wednesday, June 17th.
My journey started many years ago on a trip to Limon, Honduras to visit with family. There I learned with my mother and aunts [of Garifuna descent] about the power of herbs, plants and flowers in elixirs, tinctures and spiritual baths to heal physically, spiritually and mentally. From using valerian root to reduce muscle spasms, to using cinnamon or hibiscus to stabilize high blood sugar to purslane for thyroid support, I knew that healing through natural means would remain a part of my life. Additional trips to family in Nigeria (Yoruba), Haiti, Colombia, Brazil and Jamaica afforded me the opportunity to connect with healers across different communities to further cultivate my innate sensitivity to commune in direct awareness with the spirit of nature and universal consciousness.
The What:
The Art and Practice of Spiritual Herbalism program will offer me "a deeper way of thinking, encouraging radical theories of self-healing and ultimately community healing to take shape in [my] mind, resulting in a transformation of mind, body and spirit." The program is broken down into two levels: the Foundations of Plant Medicine, botany, methods of preparation and dosages, wild crafting and cultivation; followed by the Art of Healing with Plants.
How You Can Help:
The cost of this 6 month program is $4500. This does not include the cost of materials such as mason jars, glycerine, amber bottles, funnels, droppers and other supplies needed for the creation of tinctures, elixirs and salves.
I have grown somewhat accustomed to raising money for the students and teachers that my 501(c)(3), Bel Esprit Cultural Institute, supports in countries like Brazil, Haiti, the Dominican Republic and Jamaica. Or pouring my energy into creating an oasis in the African diaspora for a group of sisters who are committed to release, reset and recharge at the Sol Goddess Wellness Retreat. This time, however, I am letting Spirit guide my hands and move my feet towards my own growth and expansion. I hope that you can be of support.
These unprecedented times have made it excruciatingly clear that healing and restoration is of utmost importance in our communities. We need healers who will not turn their backs on us when we need them the most. We need healers who will share their gifts with generations to come. My vision for Bel Esprit is to build up people of African descent wherever they may be in the world, intellectually and spiritually--inside and out. With the proper application of this knowledge, I will be able to bring natural medicine and remedies that can be used for the collective healing and upliftment of the most vulnerable members of my community and the communities that I serve. I am excited and terrified, but beyond HONORED to heed the call.
Any and all donations are received in deep gratitude and will be used for the sole purpose of funding this endeavor.
I thank you for your love and support,
Kafayat
