Sadaqah Jariyah for Mohamed Abdirizak

Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'un

(Surely, we belong to Allah and verily to Him do we return)

A year ago today, on June 17, 2023, we experienced the profound loss of our beloved father, Mohamed Abdirizak or Barsheed as everyone who knew him best called him. This passage of time hasn't lessened the profound loss we feel, but it has allowed us to reflect on the incredible life he led and the legacy he leaves behind. In loving memory of our father we are building a well on his behalf and funding his mothers local mosque in Somalia.

For over 20 years, Mohamed Abdirizak (or Barsheed) wasn't just a talented graphic designer and visionary in publishing, but a force for good in Minnesota's Somali community. Through his design work, he brought countless businesses to life, many of which are the recognizable Somali names we see thriving in Minnesota today. Our fathers passion extended far beyond design. He was known for his infectious humor, compassion, and immense creativity, bringing joy and inspiration to everyone he encountered. From aspiring entrepreneurs to established businesses, our father left an inerasable mark on the community he loved.

Our father had a way of making everyone feel cherished, leaving a warm imprint on the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him. His greatest pride and joy, however, were his four children. His legacy lives on not only in his design work and community contributions but also in the hearts and minds of his loving children.

Our fathers spirit of giving embodied the true spirit of his faith. Sadaqah Jariyah is among the three deeds that will accompany you in the grave, and its rewards will continue to benefit even after death.. To honor his memory and perpetuate his legacy of giving, we are seeking your support for Sadaqah Jariyah initiatives in his name. This is a charitable cause undertaken in good faith, reflecting the values he cherished throughout his life.

Donations will be used to fund two vital projects in his honor. First, a water well will be built in his name, providing a source of clean water for a community in need. Second, a contribution will be made to his mother's local mosque in Somalia, furthering the spread of education and deen in his memory.
