Sadaqah Jariah for Nabeel Shahzad
Donation protected
Assalamualaikum. My name is Warda and my brother Nabeel Shahzad went missing on the 23rd night of Ramadan (April 04, 2024). With the help of the community, we arranged 2 search parties, but we were unable to find him. On April 16, 2024, the Durham police confirmed that they had found Nabeel and that he passed away in the month of Ramadan. He was 19-years-old, a second-year life sciences student at the Toronto Metropolitan University. He wanted to become a doctor.
As Muslims, we hope to leave behind our children and spouses as a means of sadaqah jariah that will continue to benefit us in our graves. Nabeel did not get a chance to get married or have any kids.
From the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, it is narrated that Sa’d ibn ‘Ubadah reported: I said, “O Messenger of Allah, my mother has died. Shall I give charity on her behalf?” The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “Yes.” I said, “Which charity is best?” The Prophet said, “A drink of water.”

We are working to raise money in the upcoming weeks to fund the building of wells in Pakistan. One well costs around $1500 and serves a community of people. If you are able, we hope that you can make a donation or share this message. Please remember Nabeel in your duas and we hope that Allah swt accepts these efforts from us.
