Sadaqah Jariyah for Sami Ahmed

Asalaamualaikum,
Inna Lilahi Wa Inna Ilayhi Rajioon.
"Surely we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return"
The Prophet Mohammed (S.A.W) said, “If you want to soften your heart, then feed the poor and pat the head of the orphan.” (Musnad Ahmad).
If such a quick, inexpensive, and effortless act as patting an orphan on the head will earn someone a reward, what about if one were to shelter an orphan, educate the orphan, clothe the orphan, and teach the orphan Quran?
Sami's Story:
On Sunday 10th July 2022, the second day of Eid Al-Adha, Sami Ahmed returned to his creator at age 15 through a tragic hiking accident in the Lake District.
Younger brother to Farah and Sara, elder brother to Eiza and best friend to Aaqib (my son in law); the light of his mothers eyes, her ‘little soldier’ and of course my best friend he was nothing short of the centrepiece of our household.
He was an adventurous young man who loved the outdoors and had been hiking since he was 10. He was also a gifted footballer with a sweet left foot playing for Phoenix Juniors and, more recently at Thackley Lightning, where his new teammates welcomed him with open arms.
Navigating through this hideous grief that shattered our hearts, we find some solace firstly in Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala, then from his friends, teachers and the community who remember him for the amazing, caring, generous boy that he was. We remain in awe of the young man he was becoming, and hearing endless stories of his beautiful character only confirms what we as a family already knew him to be. We continue to be reminded of his humble nature and soft heart, which he extended beyond his family and friends.
Always dignified, polite, respectful and with a smile that would captivate your heart, his life though brief completed ours. While his spirit, sonority of his laughter and smile can never be replaced, we aim to fill the emptiness he has left behind with worship and good deeds so great that their reward will benefit and follow him to the next life.
It was narrated by Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said: "When a man dies, all his good deeds come to an end except three: Ongoing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah), beneficial knowledge and a righteous son who prays for him." Thus, we aim to eternize Sami’s deeds through supporting orphaned children, helping to assist in building a mosque, Iqra Masjid, and sponsoring Coniston Mountain Rescue. Your heartfelt contributions will put a smile on orphan children’s faces by building sports and recreational facilities in homage to Sami’s love of Football.
Verily the eyes shed tears and the heart grieves, and we are saddened over your departure, Sami. But we will not say except that which is pleasing to our Lord.
Please take this moment to read Surah Al-Fatiha for our beloved Sami and continue to pray for him and our family.
