Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji'oon
Indeed, to Allah we belong and to Allah we shall return.
My beloved father, may Allah have mercy on him, returned to his Lord on 11/01/2025. Words cannot fully capture the heartbreak and pain his loss has left in my heart and in the hearts of our family. My father was not just an incredible father, but also a devoted husband, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather. It’s impossible to describe how truly special he was—he raised 12 beautiful children and was the most generous and kind-hearted man. The thought of my father leaving this world so soon breaks my heart, but I trust that Allah (SWT) had better plans for him.
My siblings and I want to continue his legacy by raising as much as we can on his behalf, so he can continue to earn reward (ajar), Insha’Allah.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “When a person dies, all their deeds end except three: a continuing charity (Sadaqah Jariyah.), beneficial knowledge and a child who prays for them,” (Hadith, Muslim). My father passed away in Ethiopia, where he was involved in helping to build a masjid located in Addis Ababa (Ethiopia) and had made generous donations to support its completion which is still undergoing.
There are no guidelines or limitations on how much we should give as Sadaqah Jariyah. As with any good deeds, our intentions are also very important, and the value of our giving is increased when we take our own situations and hardships into account. You can give as little or as much as you are able to do so. Giving Sadaqah does not decrease wealth. In fact, it can bring Barakah into our lives, protecting our wealth and protecting us against calamity.
My beloved father was deeply loved and played such a significant role in all of our lives. Words cannot fully express the sorrow we feel, but we ask Allah to forgive him for all his sins and to grant him the highest rank in Jannah. May Allah grant him a place in the beautiful gardens of Paradise, where he will find eternal peace and joy, Insha’Allah.
Until Jannah reunites us all abo macaan, I love you.
