Sadie & Harley ER visits
Donation protected
On Monday morning Sadie unexpectedly started screaming and dropped to the ground. She was unable to stand up for 3 minutes and continued to act disoriented for 4 more hours. As soon as she was able to stand we rushed to the emergency vet. Unfortunately as we were driving to the emergency vet my car completely died only 1/3 of the way there. Next steps were calling a tow to get my car back to Bloomington and calling a friend to get Sadie and I to the emergency vet. After numerous tests the vets were unable to come up with definitive cause and we were sent home with pain meds in hopes it was just a pulled muscle. While waiting for Sadie’s tests results, I had received a call from my mechanic informing me that my car was toast and would need an entire rebuilt engine. The following day, while in the backyard Zuma my 12 year old hospice bit Harley on the back left leg. Detaching the skin from the muscles in her leg, she required surgery at the emergency vet. Unfortunately this was a big neon sign for me that Zuma needed to be rehomed as her dementia has made her unsuitable to live with other dogs. The past 48 hours has been mentally, physically and financially draining. As the we wait for news about my cars life, the unknown of Sadie’s health, the aftercare of Harley and the heartbreaking path to rehome Zuma, I ask for help. I ask for help so that I can continue to care for my beloved pets, I ask for your help so I can continue to help other pets without a home. I promise to pass along the kindness and help others in need like you have helped me. I am extremely grateful for the strong community that I have built around me. For my friends who have helped me emotionally through this. For the friends that went to the emergency vets with me so that I wouldn’t be sitting alone. For the friends that went to my house to take care of the rest of my dogs while I was away. I will be forever grateful. If you’re able to please consider donating. Every penny will be appreciated more than you’ll know. Give your pets some extra hugs as you never know what the future will bring.
