Sadie's Bikes: A new Bicycle Shop In Greenfield Ma

Donation protected
My name is Nik! I’ve been building bikes and becoming part the upper Connecticut river valley community of Massachusetts for many years.   I am building a bike shop in Turner's Falls that can offer support for new and experienced cyclists. The shop will be an inclusive space to learn, and a platform for exploration and curiosity

The model of Sadie’s bikes starts with a solid backbone of excellent bicycle sales and service. In appreciation of the mechanical and physical world we live in, Sadie’s will also offer a full curriculum of bike classes.  Classes that will teach how to build and maintain bicycles will help people feel more empowered to ride and more knowledgeable about these simple yet complex machines. In addition to classes, customers can rent sliding scale shop time with expert advice to get the tires of their dreams making contact with the road, trail, or snow.

If you are looking to ride your bike or have just finished one at the shop, Sadie’s will be offering regular low-key group rides in the area (bike paths, ice cream adventures, and parades!)  Most of the group rides at Sadie’s will be geared towards families and dreamers. Meet and talk with other folks who share the same enthusiasm you do in powering the machine below you through one of the most beautiful parts of the country.

What does Sadie’s have for the non-cyclist?  The storefront will be home to various interesting collections and handmade products that will inspire creativity and curiosity.  Over the past 20 years, I have developed a passion for dime store toys and electronics. Come visit Sadie’s to see cigar box speakers, gumball machines, strange noise-making gizmos, and art.

The story of Sadie’s comes from a deeply personal loss and transition.  Last Spring, my wife Lisa and I gave birth to our daughter, Sadie Wren, who did not survive.  It's impossible to capture here what losing Sadie meant to us, but she gave me the courage to move forward with this long dreamed-of project.

Sadie’s wants to grow into a new age of economics where customers have a clear understanding of the product they are buying and  may even have a hand in creating it.
