Honoring Faris Through Sadaqah Jariyah

Recently, we lost our beloved Faris Awad Hamadnalla. May Allah SWT have mercy on him and grant him forgiveness. Faris was someone who touched the hearts of his family, friends, and community, leaving a lasting impact on anyone fortunate enough to know him.

We have been blessed to hear countless stories about how Faris made a difference in the lives of so many. He treated everyone with kindness and respect, always putting others first. Whether lending a helping hand to those in need or simply offering his support, Faris was a beacon of generosity. His selflessness extended to everyone around him, and his presence truly made the world a little brighter.

In honor of Faris' memory and to continue his legacy of giving, we are raising funds for two meaningful causes:

1. Building a Well in Chad

One of the primary goals of this fundraiser is to build a well in Chad to provide clean, accessible water to communities facing severe water shortages. Chad is grappling with an ongoing water crisis that has intensified over the past several decades. Lake Chad, once one of Africa's largest freshwater sources, has shrunk by around 90% since the 1960s. This drastic reduction is primarily due to a combination of climate change, reduced precipitation, modern irrigation development for agriculture, and the increasing human demand for freshwater. The scarcity of water has profoundly impacted local communities, exacerbating health challenges, food insecurity, and economic hardships.

Despite these significant challenges and their limited resources, Chad has shown remarkable generosity by hosting refugees from neighboring countries for decades, including many fleeing the current war in Sudan. This well will be constructed by a mosque in the community, symbolizing unity, hope, and the shared commitment to supporting those in need. Providing clean water through this well will not only ease the burden on these communities but also honor Faris' spirit of compassion and giving, ensuring that his legacy continues to positively impact lives.

2. Supporting the Water Supply Project in Adi-Zeban Sebue, Eritrea

Eritrea held a special place in Faris' heart. He cherished his Eritrean roots and always spoke with pride and affection about the country and its people. To honor this deep connection, part of the funds raised will support an ongoing water supply project in Adi-Zeban Sebue, a small village in Eritrea. This project aims to bring sustainable, reliable water access to the community, dramatically improving the quality of life for its residents.

What makes this project particularly special is the dedication and hard work of the people of Adi-Zeban Sebue, who are actively participating in the construction of the infrastructure. Their commitment and resilience are vital to making this project a success, as they contribute their time and effort to create a better future for their village. By contributing to this project, we celebrate Faris' love for his heritage and extend his legacy of kindness and compassion to those in need in a place that meant so much to him.
