Safe Grad Night 2021

Tax deductible
We're inviting you to help create a fantastic, and safe, graduation night experience for VHS Class of 2021!

What an incredibly challenging year our high school seniors have had. COVID has imposed isolation on these kids, at a time when they need and deserve to be with their friends and classmates.

They also deserve to be celebrated, and have as many iconic, memorable senior year experiences as possible!

The idea of SafeGrad Night has always been to provide graduates an event that is safe, sober, and incredibly fun. More than “just a party,” Grad Night is a commitment by parents to support a great, “once in a lifetime” extravaganza for graduating seniors.

With the move to Phase 3 of reopening, it is very possible to pull off something great for our seniors this year. It will in all likelihood be an in-person event, with safe-distancing and masking in place. But because we can’t know exactly what June 12 will look like in WA or on Vashon, we’re planning for more than one scenario!

A team of parents are working to come up with ideas for the event, and running them by the seniors themselves. There will be venue costs, as well as entertainment, activities, food, bussing, and staffing. Both the planning and pulling it off will need lots of involvement.  The more money we raise, the more options we’ll have for them!

Whatever SafeGrad project we have, it can only succeed with the commitment of parents and the generous support of the community.

Please contribute as generously as you can to this campaign, and share it with your family and friends – anyone who you think would like to support our seniors salvaging as much meaningful fun as possible from this crazy year.

Everyone’s input is welcome. If you’d like to be part of the planning conversations, or would like to be involved in any way, please contact Hans Van Dusen or Kevin Joyce.

Thank you!
