Help save the Alkabariti family of Gaza

My name is Sabrin Alkabariti, and I live in Gaza with my parents and my four siblings.

Despite all the challenges I faced growing up in Gaza, I have always found creative and unique solutions to problems. I studied hard to gain my university degree & professional certifications, and I have worked as a freelance Computer Systems Engineer and UX/UI Designer to support my family of seven.

However, on October 7, 2023, our lives were completely destroyed. We fled our home, and we have been on the run while being starved, bombed and made homeless. We have all lost our jobs and any sources of income.

Our home has been completely destroyed. We have lost everything - our possessions, our memories, our warm moments - even my computer, which was my only source of income.

Alhamdulillah after 471 days of war, we are finally sleeping without fear, and without the sound of helicopters and bombs all around us.

We are returning to the north of Gaza to what remains of our home and our community, and to begin to put our shattered lives back together.

We are tired, but we are grateful. Although we lost our home and so many friends and loved ones, we are grateful to be alive and to still be together as a family.

And we are so grateful to all of you. When we started this fundraiser, we could not have imagined the support and love and generosity that we received from hundreds of you around the world. There truly are angels among us, and you have become our second family.

Your donations have kept us fed, clothed and warm. And your messages of solidarity and support have kept our spirits alive.

Although the war is hopefully over, our struggle is not.

We are still in need of assistance to cover our essential expenses in the coming days- transporting our belongings back to our home, purchasing necessary clothing and shoes, and hopefully securing an apartment to rent (if we can find one) as we cannot pitch our tent on the rubble.

Any help you can provide would be deeply appreciated.

We pray that you and your families never see a single day like the ones we have lived through, and we ask Allah to bless you and to reward you all for your good deeds.

Thanks to you, we know we are not forgotten and that we are not alone. You have become our second family, and on behalf of my parents and my siblings, I want to thank you all from the bottom of our hearts.
