A 'SAFE' home for Gabby
Gabby's tough journey started when she was only 6 weeks old. Her initial diagnosis wasn't a shock nor did we feel it would hold a bleak and overwhleming future. We have battled through and continued to do everything we can to help her. Our latest mission is our biggest and possibly the most daunting one.
People often dream about buying or building their first home to start fresh, have security, their own place to belong and we are no different except a few not so minor details. We dream of a home where our beautiful Gabby can run around barefoot, feeling safe, being comfortable and knowing that the one place she can truley feel secure and happy isn't trying to harm her.
We need to build a custom home for Gabby, one with special hardwood floors, special no VOC paints (they don't emit chemicals that cause reactions to her sensitive body), An Air-filtration system, ducted Vacuum system and special built-in draws to reduce the risk of dustmites living in her clothes. Gabby is nearly 4 now and she doesn't have the choice to attend school, do sports or group activities with other children her age. It breaks our hearts but we do our best to maintain a positive attitude because for Gabby, this life is 'NORMAL'. Falling short of putting her in a bubble for her entire life (which has actually been recommended), we NEED a safe haven for her. These things that might seem like unnecessary luxeries to some are not only life changing for us but also potentially life saving for Gabby.
We have started this GoFundMe account in the hopes that we can finally provide this for her. We need a deposit to be able to obtain this custom built home for Gabby and we simply can't do it without help.
We are hoping to raise $25,000 to make this dream a reality. This would not only change our lives, it has the potential to give Gabby's little body a break and a chance to heal.
We manage her medical expenses and special (and expensive) food costs well but that means we have no wriggle room for any type of savings to be able to do this alone. We can't put into words what it would mean for us to have this dream become a reality, because there simply is none that would convey the appreciation and complete gratitude we would feel.
Thank you for taking the time to watch our video and read some of our story. If you are unable to donate we please ask that you take 5 minutes to educate yourself about living with life threatening allergies and eczema because doing so could change someones life.
