Hi! My name is Shirkara, and I am a teacher at C.O. Taylor Kirklane Elementary in Palm Springs, Florida. On behalf of our Safety Patrol Committee, I want to invite anyone and everyone willing, to help send our students to Washington, D.C., and present them with an opportunity that they otherwise wouldn't be able to afford.
Working at a Title I school has been one of the greatest experiences of my life. Mainly because of our students. Many of them deal with unthinkable issues. They inspire me daily. We are limited this year on fundraisers we are able to do at our school, so we are asking the community for help and support.
The funds will go towards helping sponsor well-deserving students who can't afford to go on the safety patrol trip to DC, as well as providing some essentials like hats, gloves, and sweaters for the trip. The more we raise, the more students we are able to help.
We are the largest elementary in Palm Beach County, yet we bring only a small number of students to DC each year. Some of our students who manage to pull the money together often come unprepared with clothing. In the past it has always been only a sad percentage of students who are able to go but this year could be even fewer.
At C.O. Taylor Kirklane Elementary, we have some of the sweetest and most deserving students you could ever meet. We always get the best compliments on the DC trip about how well-mannered and respectful our students are.
If you can manage to give to this fundraiser our students would greatly appreciate it. Your gift will help to create everlasting memories and leave a footprint in their lives.
