Medical and Travel Expenses

Donation protected
Many of you know our parents, Ron and Susan Talley as the owners of the Ellenboro Saloon as well as long time members of the Lancaster community. Ron had to undergo an unexpected emergency surgery on Friday, December 15th at the University of Iowa City Hospital. Although he came through the surgery well, the doctor has informed us he will have a very lengthy recovery ahead of him, to include a second surgery in the next 3-4 months.

Due to the extent of the surgery and his recovery, Ron will not be returning to the Ellenboro Saloon in the foreseeable future. Susan is taking on the full responsibility of keeping their business running in addition to traveling back and forth to Iowa City to be with her husband to support him and be involved with his recovery. She has already incurred extra expenses from traveling to Iowa City daily since Ron’s surgery.

Our family is kindly asking for donations to help cover costs for travel to and from the hospital multiple times a week and for medical expenses that may not be covered by their health insurance. We don’t fully know what medical care he will need going forward but, the immediate need is travel costs, possible lodging should our Mom need to stay in Iowa City overnight and for unforeseen medical expenses they have to incur out of pocket. We appreciate each and everyone for their prayers and/or monetary support during this difficult time.
