Saint Peter and Paul Roman Catholic Church

Hi, my name is Ian Kosik , I am fundraising for the manufacturing and erection of a bell tower in the Saint Peter and Paul Cemetery.

As many of you are aware the church was lit on fire the night of Feb.21/2025. Not only was it a land mark in the R.M. Of Garden River it was a piece of our local history and one that connected generations to the early settlers that built it. The church was founded in 1910 by polish immigrants. Services were held every Sunday for a number of years. There was also a rectory in the NE corner of the church yard where the priest stayed. The last funeral was held in 1995 and an anniversary in 1999. Due to the deteriorating condition of the church, it was decommissioned in 2018 along with the last church service.

In memory of the pioneers and early settlers that built the church a bell tower will be constructed at the cemetery. The original bell was located before the fire and the cross from the steeple was recovered after the fire. Due to a numbered corporation owning the church yard. The bell tower will be erected in the cemetery, which is a quarter mile North of the church yard.

Money raised will be for material and labor, any other money raised will go to beautifying the cemetery.

The bell tower will be similar to the one posted in the pictures.
