Saipan Cares for Animals Virtual Shelter
Donation protected
Saipan Cares for Animals (SCA), provided a low cost Community Clinic/Rescue and Shelter for the Northern Marianas Islands (U.S territory) for over 8 years. There are no other animal care services here. These islands have a long history of dogs and cats over-populating our streets, beaches and jungles, who are homeless, diseased, injured and starving. The local Government’s solution to this terribly sad problem has been 100% euthansia. SCA’s humane, and more long term solution, is to provide spay/neuter surgery. We invite volunteer Veterinarians from around the world to visit our islands to perform the necessary surgeries.
Eight months ago our constant financial struggles to stay open became very serious and consequently we had to close our physical shelter. We have been able to keep the much needed and only Community Animal Clinic open and have created a “Virtual Shelter” ; individuals and families in our community provide the shelter and SCA provides the medical care and spay/neuter surgery that we use to provide our shelter animals before adopting out.
Since opening our Virtual Shelter in April, 2022, we have had no budget for this program and now, today, our low cost Community Clinic is struggling to stay open as it provides for our Virtual Shelter as well.
We are asking everyone who has compassion and love for animals, and a desire to keep our beautiful tropical islands clean and safe, to please donate to support our Virtual Shelter. The homeless dogs and cats on Saipan are grateful for your help!
