Sal's Spean Bridge Speed March for the RMC & REORG
Donation protected
My name is Cadet Corporal Salahudeen Hussain. I am 16 years old and a Royal Marine Cadet at Sheffield Detachment. I hope to raise £8,000 for the Royal Marines & REORG Charities by doing the Spean Bridge Commando Speed March in Summer 2023.
The Commando Speed March consists of carrying 36lbs (16.5kg) over 7miles (11km) in less than one hour. The route follows the original World War Two Commando Speed March between Spean Bridge Railway Station and Achnacarry House. It was the first test aspiring commandos were subjected to. If they failed to reach the finish in time they immediately failed.
The Royal Marines Charity provides support to the Royal Marines family. They firmly believe in OARMAARM - "Once a Royal Marine Always A Royal Marine". I aspire to become an officer in the Royal Marines so this a cause I feel strongly about. https://rma-trmc.org/about-us/
The REORG Charity https://reorgcharity.com/ was set up by Royal Marine's Colour Sergeant Sam Sheriff. It helps service personnel transitioning out of the military which for many can be a very difficult time, especially if they are also suffering the after-effects of physical and psychological trauma. REORG helps to give drive and purpose to people that suffer this struggle. They are helped to overcome their challenges through learning a new challenging skill, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ). I train in BJJ at a REORG affiliated gym. Again, helping veterans through this sport combines two things that are very close to my heart.

"Can I do it?" Well in Summer 2021 I raised £6,660 for my detachment and the SBSA (Special Boat Service Association). I did so by becoming the youngest person (15) to complete the load bearing Fan Dance. My Fan Dance donation page
I was also recently appointed Her Majesty's Lord Lieutenant's Cadet for South Yorkshire 2021-22. My HMs LLs Cadet speech

I hope this shows you that I have the strength and drive to complete the challenges I set myself. My dad always says "Aim for the stars but keep your feet firmly on the ground".
I promise to finish what I start...I hope you will donate to help me reach my target and help others.
